Dittons Skiff & Punting Club Activities

The club offers a wide range of club activities such as skiffing and punting training for all ages.

Punting training from 6 pm onwards – 8 th April to September.

Club skiffing from 6pm onwards either in set crews or once trained turn up and see who’s around!

During the winter months circuits are run in the club room – 6.45 pm start (sharp). All are welcome.

The bar is open and dinner is provided on a volunteer rota basis afterwards from 8 pm.

Club skiffing from 6 pm onwards, punting from 6.30 pm ( punting summer months only)

Friday morning skiffing is for those who enjoy a social skiff followed by tea and biscuits. Please turn up by 9.15 am to help get boats out.

Bridge to Bridge – October to July – Start time 9.15 am.

B to B is an excellent way to improve your skiffing (rowing) skills. Crews are ‘mix and match’ and organised on the day – just turn up and put your peg on the board. The race (slowest starts first, fastest last) is a run from from Hampton Court Bridge to Kingston Bridge This is followed by a lovely tea in the club room again supplied on a volunteer rota basis.

Singles and coxless doubles race – 8 am. This is a timed race from Hampton Court Bridge, round Ravens Ait and back to Thames Ditton Marina – about 25 – 30 minutes. Racing either in a single skiff or a coxless double skiff, the crews are handicapped based on experience and fitness, giving everyone a fair chance at the race.  Not got a crew but want to try coxless doubles we will put you with someone more experienced.

Juniors including skiffing and in the summer months only punting – 9.50 am – 11.30 am.

Please note that whilst members are allowed to boat at other times there are various safety rules in place which must be adhered to at all times.
