Friendly local club situated in an idyllic riverside setting for skiffing and punting at Thames Ditton
Situated in an idyllic riverside setting Dittons Skiff and Punting Club is a friendly local club offering the traditional river sports of skiffing and punting at Thames Ditton. We offer social skiffing and punting, to meanders, or racing where we compete against other local skiff and punting clubs at regattas throughout the season.
We have a gym which includes rowing machines (ergos) a multi gym and free weights. Our club house offers fantastic facilities to all members; our own bar, a kitchen suitable for mass catering, a large club room and a balcony with a fabulous river view.
Dittons has a busy social calendar throughout the year and the club house is available for private use to members.
Skiffing
Skiffs are hand-crafted traditional wooden sculling (rowing) boats, built either as singles or doubles which are steered by a cox. As well as social skiffing and longer distance trips we also race at regattas through out the summer. Come along and learn to row in a skiff, not only is it great fun, it is a sociable and low cost sport, suited to all ages and abilities.

PUNTING
Punting is a traditional Thames summer sport supported by our club. Dittons racing punts are flat bottomed, square ended craft, moved with a pole against the river bed and raced as both singles and doubles. It is a challenging combination of skiers’ balance with velodrome competition and tactics. Punts are enormous fun to race and to watch.
Juniors
Dittons Skiff and Punting Club runs a busy and fun junior section every Sunday morning from 9.50 am. Children from age 9 upwards are very welcome. Ages 9 to 10 learn to row in fibreglass dinghies. From age 11 they transfer to learning to row in skiffs. They are also taught the skills required to cox (steer) a boat as well as building up river safety knowledge. Over the summer months river conditions permitting we also offer punting as an option to the juniors on a Sunday morning.
